Join us for an information-packed, interactive webinar detailing how you can help end the over-representation of Indigenous kids in prison. With a group of other Amnesty supporters, you’ll learn about the campaign strategy, meet the team and find out how you can take part in our 45 day action blitz starting in September.

Across Australia we are repeatedly hearing stories of children being abused in our youth (in)justice system. And we can’t escape the fact that these kids are overwhelmingly from Indigenous backgrounds.

Amnesty’s Community is Everything campaign aims to end this injustice – but we need your help!

Public outrage has so far compelled both Federal and State/Territory governments to make youth justice a priority. Prime Minister Turnbull immediately enacted a Royal Commission into Youth Detention in the Northern Territory following the Don Dale scandal – due to report on 30 September – and the issue is now on the COAG agenda.

With this spotlight now on youth detention, we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to secure a long term, funded national plan of action from the government. Working with our partners through the Change the Record coalition, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities have the solutions – now we just need the government to do the right thing.

At this critical time, the campaign needs people from all walks of life to make a change. You have the passion, the skills, and the desire to help end this injustice. And we’re here to help you take action that works! RSVP today.

Suggested audience: Amnesty action groups are already planning exciting events across the country, but there is a role for everyone to take part in the blitz. We especially welcome people who are new to the campaign.
