The film is about ‘Geeta’ and her children who suffered acid attacks from her husband as he only had ‘girls, girls, girls’. Rather than a film of despair it is ‘a vibrant, raw and honest film about a mother’s heartfelt attempt to change her daughter’s destiny and challenge social norms’.

Geeta and her daughter Neetu also started ‘Sheroes Hangout’ in Agra – a tea shop which after 9 years employs 30 other survivors and has raised money for financial support, training, rehabilitation and life-changing operations for a further 100 women.

The filmmakers have social impact goals for the film and wish not only to raise the volume on conversations of gender based violence In Australia and around the world by sharing Geeta and Neetu’s experiences, but also help build a network of young people seeking solutions and champion change and supporting communities that create environments in which women and girls are safe and able to thrive and pursue their dreams.
