Want to take action on human rights, but don’t really know where to start? Come along to the Get Active session to find out about a little more about us, hear about what we’ve got planned for 2023 and find out more about how you can get involved.

Amnesty International has been challenging injustice since the 1960s. So many of the human rights wins we’ve seen have been because we’ve had the passion and dedication of our amazing activists and action takers all around the country behind us. We’ve been able to show time and time again that the power of the people is stronger than the people in power.

At the Get Active we’ll be chatting about our right to protest campaign. Without the right to raise our voices in protest the world would be a very different place. Right now, governments and powerful groups with deep pockets are threatening our right to protest. We want everyone to be able to safely stand up for human rights. Together we can protect the right to protest and continue to challenge injustice. We’ll be chatting about how you can get more involved in our right to protest campaign and also how you can get more involved with Amnesty in general.

It’ll be a relaxed and informal session and is great for anyone at any stage of their activism journey. Whether you’re brand new to the world of activism and volunteering and are still figuring out how you want to make a difference, or you’re a veteran activist with a basement full of posters from protests of the past, this session will give you a bunch of different options for you to start challenging injustice!

This is online event which is starting at 6pm WA time, 7.30pm NT and SA time and 8pm QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC and TAS time.
