Want to take action on human rights, but don’t really know where to start? Feeling overwhelmed by the constant news of human rights crises all around the world?

Amnesty International has been challenging injustice since the 1960s, and a big part of why we can have the impact that we do is because of the work of our amazing activists and volunteers all around the country!

Whether it’s organising events in their community, gathering petition signatures at their weekend market, meeting with their local MPs, or rocking up to a protest ready to lead the chants and wave their posters proudly, we’re unstoppable together thanks to them.

For the next few months we will be focused on our annual Write for Rights campaign. Write for Rights is the world’s largest human rights event. It’s a moment when Amnesty International’s movement of ten million comes together as one to take action and stand up for freedom, justice and equality. Last year, Amnesty supporters across Australia took more than 185,000 actions.

At the next Get Active, we will be discussing our plans and strategies for growing the campaign even more, so that we can further challenge the systems that enable abuses worldwide.

It’ll be a relaxed session where you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about what we do at Amnesty International, and most importantly how you can get involved and join the fight for human rights!

Whether you’re brand new to the world of activism and volunteering and are still figuring out how you want to make a difference, or you’re a veteran activist with a basement full of posters from protests of the past, this session will give you a bunch of different options for you to start challenging injustice!
