Want to take action on human rights, but don’t really know where to start? Feeling overwhelmed by the constant news of human rights crises all around the world?

We’ve been challenging injustice since the 1960s, and a big part of why we can have the impact that we do is thanks to the work of our amazing activists and volunteers all around the country – because the power of the people is stronger than the people in power.

Join us at our next ‘Get Active: Intro to Activism’ session focused on LGBTQIA+ rights. You’ll hear all about what activism means at Amnesty International, about some of the amazing human rights wins we’ve been able to achieve thanks to our people-powered movement and what we’ve got planned for LGBTQIA+ activism for the rest of the year.

Some of the incredible activists from our National LGBTQIA+ Network are coming along too, so you’ll be sure to walk away from the session feeling inspired, connected and ready to take action to challenge injustice with us.

The Get Active sessions are relaxed and informal spaces open to everyone at any stage in their activism journey, including those who are new to the world of activism who haven’t had much experience taking action before. You don’t need to prepare anything for the session, all you need is a passion for human rights and an interest in getting more involved. The session is open to anyone in the LGBTQIA+ community and all LGBTQIA+ allies looking to get more involved.

This is online event which is starting at 6pm WA time, 7.30pm SA and NT time and 8pm QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC and TAS time.
