IDAHOBIT is fast approaching, and we are bringing the celebrations to the University of the Sunshine Coast!

Celebrate all genders and sexualities at USC during this free two day event! Come watch some films and learn about what you can do for LGBTIQ+ rights in Australia, and around the world.

IDAHOBIT, or the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia was created in 2004 to raise awareness of the violence and discrimination LGBTIQ+ people face all around the world. This day also celebrates and recognises that everyone should enjoy rights, regardless of gender or sexuality.

Tuesday the 16th of May:

On Tuesday the Amnesty International group will hold a stall at the Brasserie lawn and stage from 10:00am to 2:00pm where you can sign a petition and chat with our friendly volunteers about what you can do for the LGBTIQ+ community on the Sunshine Coast!

There will also be a diverse panel of speakers who will speak on the theme of ‘Spectrums’ at 10:15am until 11:00am on the Brasserie stage.

Wednesday the 17th of May:

On Wednesday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm we will host a screening of select GAYcation episode. Your heart will be truly touched by the stories of adversity and strength from the LGBTIQ+ community across the globe. The screening will be held in Building I, LT3. Not to mention there will also be free rainbow treats! So come and enjoy these yummy treats as you watch GAYcation.
