This year The Maleny Youth Festival will also mark the 20th Anniversary of the Maleny Flexi School and will be held on Friday 1st November 2019. Students are proudly supported by the Maleny Neighborhood Centre, Boab Dreaming Solutions and the Sunshine Coast Council.
The theme we have chosen for our 6th annual event is “Dia De Los Muertos”. Whilst the popular aesthetic of this traditional Mexican celebration permeates youth culture, the deeper meaning of “The Day of the Dead” interests us. It invites us to come together and celebrate “all that has gone before, all that is and all that will be”.
This is an opportunity for us to recognise former students, staff and volunteers who have contributed to the Maleny Flexi School over the last 20 years, as well as showcasing the creative talents of young people currently in our community. This is a free local event for the whole community.
