Held annually since 1988 Midsumma Festival has become one of Australia’s most significant arts and cultural festivals for the LGBTIQA+ community.

The Carnival kicks off the three-week festival with an all-day picnic with live music, stalls and entertainment.

The Amnesty International Vic LGBTQI Network has held a stall at the carnival for the past several years. It is an opportunity to engage with human rights issues people all over the world are facing because of their actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity; so come sign petitions and talk to LGBTQI Network about the work Amnesty International does to advocate for and defend SOGI rights – and sign up!
