A CANDLELIGHT vigil to honour the mothers and children who are not able to be with us today, as they were victims of violence.

Our vigil will recognise the intersections of violent systems and that Blak, PoC, LGBTQIA+ people living with disability are at an increased risk of GBV, and less likely to report due to structural systems of marginalisation.

On this crucial budget eve, we call for budget funding to support:
– A dedicated committee to immediately address the issues facing women in Australia today.
– Trauma informed and intersectional frameworks
– Consultation with marginalised communities, especially those often left out of the conversation.

We demand that the 2021 budget reflect the resourcing and priorities needed to address this violence NOW. Thank you to Sherele Moody and the #RedHeartCampaign. We use the horrifying Femicide Map with permission.
