Amnesty Newcastle is holding a face to face ‘Write for Rights’ event in Newcastle on Sunday Dec 10th and we would love you to join us.
It will be at the Sherwood Cafe, 67 Parry St, Newcastle West (opposite the Edwards, near Marketown) from 10am till 12pm. The Sherwood has great coffee and there is plenty of parking in Parry St.
Come along and have a coffee, a chat, meet some of our Newcastle group, and write some letters for Write for Rights.
There are ten Write for Rights cases this year – people who have been treated unjustly or have been imprisoned simply for engaging in freedom of speech and peaceful protest.
We will have information on the ten cases plus proforma letters that you can sign, or you can write your own personalised letter to the authorities, or a letter of support to the person and/or their family.
We will be there from 10am till 12pm. You can drop by for as short or as long a time as you want. Email me at email@example.com if you have any questions.
I look forward to see you then.
Regards – Kevin
