This year, Amnesty Newcastle will be running a Write for Rights exhibition, showcasing the 10 Writes for Rights cases we are working on throughout 2018 in support of human rights defenders around the world.

The Write for Rights Exhibition will run from November 10th to January 28th and will be hosted at the Newcastle City Library and 8 other regional libraries in the area. You can help take action by writing letters and action cards in support of the incredible work these human rights activists do.

On November 14, don’t miss the long-anticipated Book Launch of “Outspoken” by Rod Bowers, whose unapologetic and provocative advocacy for refugee and human rights as an Anglican minister has made him well known in the city. Join us for a lively discussion as Rod discusses his experiences in advocacy and how they relate to his own faith and role as an Anglican minister.

Then on December 10, catch the Human Rights Commission Photographic exhibition running at the Newcastle City Library. The works being showcased at the exhibition will provide an intimate glimpse into the important work that human rights activists do around the world.

Amnesty International Australia is participating in this event in support of human and refugee rights impact. Our participation does not reflect endorsement of Father Rod Bower’s Australian Senate candidacy.
