Amnesty International in collaboration with the Noongar Institute of Western Australia will be hosting a Noongar yarning event at the Woodbridge Riverside Park and Play space to celebrate NAIDOC week. Hear the story of the season, mookaroo, from a local Aboriginal elder and learn about Noongar culture.
The event will feature yarning, banner painting and face painting.
Bring a blanket, a picnic and enjoy a day out at this free event with your family.
This event is part of Amnesty International’s Community is Everything Campaign. This campaign is about keeping kids in communities, not prisons. Amnesty International, through this five year campaign, aims to encourage support for Indigenous-led solutions and promote a fairer youth justice system.
Event for all ages.
