Do you want to learn how to build power in your community? This is an introductory workshop in community organising. Community organising is more than just a set of tasks, it is a way of tapping into your community to build power and make change. In this workshop we’ll take you through the basic community organising frameworks and technics including:
  • The importance of developing grassroots’ leadership
  • Developing effective skill sets
  • Knowing your community
  • Assessing your power base
If you want to know how to make change the grass roots way then we invite you to participate in this workshop.
During this session we will also show the documentary ‘How to Survive a Plague’. This documentary shows the power of organising – and how it saved lives.
Suggestion audience:
New activists and supporters, or those new to the concept of community organising.
