Oz Comic Con is the premiere popular culture convention in Australia. Our stall would encourage Oz Comic Con guests to sign our petitions and raise awareness of the current issues and campaigns we are fighting for.
The Pop Culture Network is well versed in running such event, having participated in a number of previous Oz Comic Cons, as well as Madman Anime Festivals and Supanova.
Our aim is to engage with the many thousands of individuals in attendance at Madman in a COVID-safe manner about the importance of our current campaigns and informed them of international human rights issues, while still appearing as a friendly and approachable group. We believe our attendance at these types of events are beneficial to Amnesty’s cause.
Overall, we hope our presence at the event will further educate the pop-culture society of what Amnesty International does as an organisation, inform them of the campaigns we are focusing on and encourage Amnesty International petition signatures in relation to these campaigns.
