Join us for an evening celebrating gender and sexual diversity to mark IDAHOBIT (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexphobia & Transphobia), which celebrates LGBTQIA+ people globally, and raises awareness for the work still needed to combat discrimination.
The event will be an intimate gathering of people at the dining table, allowing everyone to have a chance to meet and converse with each other, while sharing food, stories, art, poetry, music and performance.
Special guests will join a panel of speakers who will share their experiences, passions and advocacy relevant to gender rights and equality issues. They will speak on the meaning of gender to themselves, problems LGBTQIA+ people face currently in Gold Coast, a summary of what their organisation does, and suggestions of what the public can do to help combat gender inequality.
Bring a plate to share and enjoy conversations and performances on visual art, poetry, music and dance over dinner.
This is a FREE event, but registration is essential. The event will be exclusive to the registered guests. Limited seats are available. More details will be sent to those who register.
