| The Amnesty Eastern Suburbs group is looking to sign up activists in the pursuit of human rights. In addition, the focus of the stall will be to gain support for the Amnesty International Australia campaign for the various Australian Governments to work with Indigenous communities for solutions to reduce the over-representation of Indigenous youth in Australian jails. The specific focus will be to raise the age for locking up of Indigenous kids to at least 14 years of age, consistent with the decision of the UN Committee of the Rights of the Child.We would be getting people to sign a petition that will be presented to State Premiers and Attorneys- General. |
