We are coming together to shed light on the Australian government’s cruel treatment of refugees both onshore and offshore that continues to remain at the forefront of Australia’s prominent human rights issues. Almost 250 people are still offshore; 140 remain detained in Australia and over 1000 live apprehensively within the community. 8 years is too long; 13 lives lost is too many and $10 billion spent is too much, it is time to demand #GameOver.
The global stage waits eagerly for the Australian government’s end to the mistreatment of those seeking asylum in Australia.
Refugee week is our moment to speak out. Let’s put an end to injustice. We will have keynote speakers join us to talk about the issue. Feel free to bring any signs or banners to support the cause.
