Amnesty International Townsville invite you to join them at a screening of Australian comedy ‘The Merger’ on 12 December at 6:30pm.
The Merger is a 2018 funny, feel-good Australian movie about the Bodgy Creek ‘Roosters’ – a failing footie club who are forced to team up with some local refugees – and end up winning more than just a game.
Join us in the outdoor garden of the Heritage Exchange Hotel on Wednesday 12 December at 6:30pm to watch this hilarious and heart-felt comedy.
“By presenting the refugees as part of the solution to Bodgy Creek’s problems, our hope is that those who deem them opportunistic outsiders, see that they have more in common than they previously thought,” Damian Callinan, who also stars in the film in the lead role of coach Troy Carrington.
This screening of The Merger is a joint initiative of the Townsville Amnesty International Action Group and Townsville Movies that Matter.
