WHERE: Parliament House lawns, Canberra

WHEN: Tuesday 15 June, 10am – 12 noon

Following community pressure, over 100 men walked free from detention earlier this year.

But the Government – after 8 years – still has no plan at all for the resettlement of over 1400 people who were caught up in the brutal offshore detention regime.

Hundreds of people are still being held against their will on PNG or Nauru, or locked up in detention facilities in Australia. The rest remain in limbo, without a pathway for a place to rebuild their lives.

So we are taking the fight to Parliament.
On 15 June, join us at the Canberra Convergence, sending a powerful message to the Government and all our elected representatives.

In 2018, our movement came together in Canberra to demand #KidsOffNauru. We forced the government to listen. And we won.

Now it’s time for a real solution for everyone caught up by the terrible offshore detention regime, and the violence that came with it.

It’s time for a plan from the government.

It’s #TimeForAHome.

Note: There will be free buses leaving from Melbourne CBD (14th June) and Sydney CBD (on 15th June) for Canberra. The return journey will be on the 15th June, post event. Cost-free accommodation will be organised for people from Melbourne wanting to stay overnight on the 14th. Book your seat by registering soon!
