Amnesty International USC invites you to a panel discussion on the rights of refugees and people seeking asylum.

The panel will be feature discussion from three speakers – Gabby Sutherland, Lisa McDonald and Pemba Amiri.

Gaby and Lisaw have witnessed first-hand the atrocities of the Australian government’s refugee policy in offshore detention centres.

Pemba works with the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre as part of a community-led movement of people having powerful conversations to shift community attitudes and advocate for safety, fairness and freedom for people seeking asylum.

We will be showing real footage into the realities of Nauru’s refugee detention centres and discussing the truth behind the process of settling refugees in Australia.

There will be the opportunity to ask the speakers questions during the session. Free pizza will be provided (gluten free and vegan options will be available).
