Amnesty International Eastern Suburbs (Sydney) will again participate in the biggest annual global human rights event, Write for Rights.
Be a part of it by joining together in an afternoon of letter writing and petitioning to 9 governments who have abused, jailed and tortured citizens who have stood up for their rights. Stand with them and help defend their rights.
Beginning 20 years ago in Poland to celebrate Human Rights Day, Write for Rights has grown from over 2000 letters in 2001 to 4.5 million letters, tweets and petitions in 2020.
Join with like-minded people in the eastern suburbs of Sydney on December 12 in a campaign that really has worked in the past in attaining justice for human rights defenders. Write for Rights has been instrumental in freeing from torture, harassment or unjust imprisonment more than 100 people since 2001.
Light refreshments will be provided and the event will be taking place according to NSW Government Covid-19 Safety regulations.
